Has anyone used these?

Specifically looking at the DYN2 drives but the DYN 4 drives provide encoder output.

Thanks

Hi,

IMO, The dyn2 is great, along with their servo motors from my limited experience. I have bee using their older nema34 with 14bit encoders for some time under step and director use. Been using the same motors for 4 years with limited hobbyist use.
The worked great under a c23 bob. And now they are working great too with a kflop and closing the loop on linear scales.

Their customer service has been generous, and repairs are reasonable as I blew one drive (my fault).

Thanks for the review. I am  deciding if I should get the dyn4 or dyn2 with dyn4  I could send it's quadrature output back to kflop and either use analog input or step/direction. Side benefit of not needing a power supply and coming with more powerful servos.  The downside is about 40% more cost.

But what will it cost you to buy the DC power supplies? When I was looking at DMM servos I planned to go with the AC input drives.

I have 4 new DYN2 drivers, and 4 AC servos from them as well they are great!

Power supply is cheap in my opinion.  AnTek Inc.  I am using the PS-10N56.  One supply easily drives all the DYN2 (I have 4)  cost was ~180 dollars if I remember but I added two other rails I think you can get just the 56V rail for 150ish..

I sent the spec to DMM support and they said it was a good option for what I was trying to accomplish.  I have not looked back and it is hands down the best system I have put on my machine.

The power supply I have is identical to the Antek PS-15n73

I have a 72v 20 amp unregulated supply that would probably work fine for the DYN2's. They take 80v max.

I think I will probably get the DYN4's though.  The DYN4 package comes with .75kw motors which have longer shafts that would be easier to adapt to my system, as well as the added benefits of encoder output and simpler wiring.  I think the .75 kw motors are overkill for a knee mill which originally steppers though.

The DYN2 package has 400w motors which would be more than fine using a ~2.5-1 drive with 5 turn/in ball screws.

Well I bought the .75kw motors and AC input drives.  What really won me over was the shaft length on the motors should make it possible to do the conversion without needing any kind of extension.

If anyone wants a good deal on a 20 amp 72v PS I will have no further need of it.

I got the drives/motors as a kit on ebay.  It seems they have some overstock for sale about $100 off
